This study presents a comprehensive methodology for evaluating recommendation systems, aimed at empirically validating their performance in real-world usage scenarios. The proposed methodology involves systematically gathering user feedback to evaluate the relevance of recommendations and measure overall user satisfaction. The evaluation process includes defining objectives and criteria, configuring the execution environment appropriately, conducting practical tests, and performing both quantitative and comparative analyses of the results. The methodology proved effective in identifying areas for improvement in a recommendation system applied to the context of digital TV (DTV), providing a detailed understanding of its behavior in real-world conditions. The feedback gathered offered valuable insights that will guide future system optimizations.
