This paper presents a fault-tolerant control (FTC) strategy for linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems based on the fault-hiding approach, which guarantees the fault-tolerant stabilization of LPV systems by inserting a reconfiguration block between the plant and the fault-diagnostic controller to compensate for faults and maintain system performance. In particular, this paper proposes a novel dynamic LPV reconfiguration block structure that does not depend on the internal model principle and reduces the conservativeness of the fault-hiding design conditions. Lyapunov theory is used to obtain linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions that guarantee closed-loop stability in the presence of simultaneous multiplicative faults in the process, sensors, and actuators. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in a VTOL benchmark.
