This work proposes a new method to use virtual reconfigurable stabilizers for stabilization and oscillation damping in DC-DC converters with constant power loads. This concept, inspired by reconfiguration blocks for fault hiding, is used in this paper for dealing with negative impedance effects while maintaining the operation with a controller previously designed. Thus, design conditions based on linear matrix inequalities are presented to obtain the parameters of the stabilizer for guaranteeing the exponential stability of the converter’s operation point. Numerical simulations indicate that the stabilizer is able to improve the system’s damping and to guarantee the stability in scenarios where the nominal controller is unable to stabilize it.
